Ask AI

Ask about your data in plain language from any page, and use recipes, skills, memory, charts, saved tables and approved changes.

Ask AI answers questions about your own project data without leaving the page. It only works with your tracked data, so it is not a general chatbot.

How to ask

Choose Ask AI in the sidebar to open the AI Assistant panel beside the page you are on. Type your question in the box (Ask anything about your AI visibility) and press Send. It knows which page, engines, market and period you are looking at, so you can ask "Why did this drop?" without explaining what you mean.

The panel reads your data and changes nothing. A badge at the top says Read only, or Approve first when it can propose changes (see below). Usage counts against your plan, and a Limit reached note appears when you have used it up. See Plans, checks and limits.

Press New Chat to start again.

Recipes and suggested questions

With nothing typed yet, the panel offers questions for the page you are on, such as "What should we fix first?" on the Overview or "Which sources cite us?" on Sources. Recipes cover Visibility over time, Compare to competitors, Top 10 leaderboard, Segment by engine, Which sources cite us?, Look up a source, What should we fix first? and Why did this drop?

Plan, question cards and approval

Tick Plan before you send and Ask AI first shows a numbered plan with Cancel and Approve. Approve runs it. A question card has tick boxes, a Something else... box, Skip and Answer.

Skills

Press Skills to see three built in: Review your visibility (/visibility-overview), Look up a source (/source-lookup) and Build a custom report (/custom-report). Pick one to start a chat with it.

To add your own, choose Write skill instructions (a name and the steps) or Upload a skill (a .md or .txt file up to 20 KB). A workspace can hold up to 20, each with steps up to 2,000 characters. Remove one with the cross beside it.

Memory

Press Memory to see what Ask AI remembers. Type a note into Add memory, choose Project context (this project only) or Workspace context (every project), then press Add memory. Notes are up to 300 characters and you can keep 30. Use the cross to delete one.

Saved analysis

Each table in a reply has a Save button, which then reads Saved. Open Analysis to see your saved tables, newest first, each with the question it answered. Use Collapse all or Expand all, Table to see the figures behind a chart, and Ask again to put the question back in the box. A Download menu on a table or chart gives Save as image or Export CSV. Saved tables are your own: a colleague does not see them. Viewers and client logins cannot save.

Charts, dashboards and your connected data

A reply with a clean table of figures gets a chart above the table: a line when the rows are dates, bars for engines, brands or pages. Ask for a dashboard, such as "Build me a weekly dashboard", and a Dashboard tab appears beside Chat listing its cards. Press Save changes to keep it, then press Open Dashboards. See Dashboards.

Ask AI can also read your Search Console, Google Analytics AI referrals, Bing and AI crawler data once they are connected, for example "How many clicks did Search Console report last month?" If one is not connected, the reply says so and tells you where to connect it.

Chat history

Every chat is saved automatically, and only you can see yours. Press Recents to see them, type in Search conversation history, and press a chat to reopen it. Archive moves a chat to Archived chats, and Unarchive brings it back. Nothing is deleted.

Preview and approve changes

If you can edit the project, Ask AI can propose two kinds of change: adding prompts, and changing settings (How often, Engines, Visibility target, Value of one sale or lead and Conversion rate). A card under the reply shows each change as it is now and as it will be, with Reject and Approve. Nothing changes until you press Approve. If something has changed since the preview, you are shown it again first.

What to do next

Start with a recipe on the page you use most, then save the tables you want to keep. For the questions Ask AI answers best, see What each figure means.
