The Sources page lists the websites AI cites in your answers. These extras help you sort that list and look at one page at a time. For the basics, see Sources and competitors.
Figures at the top
| Figure | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Cited without a mention | Answers that link to your website without naming your brand, out of all answers that link to it, for example 12 / 40 |
A high share means AI uses your pages but does not credit your brand by name.
Page types and your own categories
Under the bar of source types, Page types shows how citations split by kind of page.
| Page type | What it is |
|---|---|
| Comparison | A page that compares products or services |
| Listicle | An article built as a list |
| Alternative | A page about alternatives to a product |
| How-to guide | Step-by-step instructions |
| Product page | A page about one product or service |
| Discussion | A forum or community thread |
| Article | General articles, news and features |
| Profile | A directory entry for a company or product |
| Homepage | The main page of a website |
Choose a page type to list only the websites with pages of that type. Choose it again to clear it.
Your categories groups websites and pages your own way. Choose Categories above the table, then Add category. Give it a Category name, pick a Colour, and enter the Page URLs, one per line. A website on its own covers all its pages. Tick Include subpaths to cover everything beneath a path. The first category that matches a page is the one it gets. Each category then appears as a filter under Your categories.
Bookmarks
Choose the bookmark icon beside a website or a page to add it to your watchlist. Choose Bookmarked above the table to see only those. Use it for competitors, your own sites and the publications you want to get onto.
Sentiment
The Sentiment column shows how the answers that cite a website, or a single page, describe your brand: Positive, Neutral or Negative.
Find gaps
The gap filter above the table narrows the list to websites where competitors are named but your brand is not. Choose Min 1 competitor, Min 2 competitors or Min 3 competitors to keep websites whose answers name at least that many different competitors and never name you. All domains clears it.
Details for one page
Open a website's row, then choose Details beside a page. The page shows:
| Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
| URL type | The kind of page |
| Retrievals | Times an AI answer cited this URL in the period |
| Citation rate | The share of answers in the period that cite this URL |
| No. of prompts | Prompts with at least one answer citing this URL |
| First Seen, Last Seen | When it was first and last cited |
| Sentiment | How the answers that cite this page describe you |
Below are charts of Retrievals over time and by engine, and a table of the prompts that led to it, with how often each names you. Choose Back to Sources to return.
Retrieved but not cited
Some engines read pages they do not cite. Click a prompt on the Prompts page to open its answers, then find Retrieved but not cited.
| Figure | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Retrievals | Pages the engines read for this prompt |
| Citation rate | The share of those pages that were cited, with a bar for each engine |
| Not cited | Pages read but not cited, in pages |
| Yours not cited | Your own pages read but not cited, in pages |
Choose Show pages to list them. Each row gives the page, its website, whether it is yours or a competitor's, and the engines that read it. Engines that do not list the pages they read are named under Not shown.
When your workspace has Pages read but rarely cited, the list also includes pages cited in fewer than half of the answers that read them, each with its own citation rate (hover for "cited in 1 of 5 answers"). Use Lowest rate or Most read to change the order.
Social channels
The Social channels tab on Sources shows which social sites AI cites: Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Medium, X, Facebook, Instagram, Quora and Pinterest. For each channel it gives Citations, Share of answers, Change since the previous period, whether the answers also name you, and who is cited there.
What to do next
Look for page types where competitors are cited and you are not, then see Opportunity size and Influence score to decide where to start.
