These views split your visibility into parts, so you can see which topics, markets and engines to work on first. They follow the engines, market and period chosen in the filter bar.
Break visibility down
On the Competitors page, the Visibility tab holds these cards. A card with only one topic, market or engine to compare is left out.
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Visibility by topic | The share of AI answers that name you for each topic your prompts are grouped under, with Change, your Rank among the brands you track and your Share of voice. Strongest first |
| Visibility by market | The share of AI answers that name you in each market you track, with Rank, Share of voice and who Leads there |
| Citation rate by engine | The share of answers that link to a page on a brand's own website, for each engine. Darker is a higher rate |
Topic prioritisation
Topic prioritisation sorts each topic into one of four groups, split at your own overall figures for Visibility (named in answers) and Cited (linking to your site).
| Group | Named in answers | Cited |
|---|---|---|
| Strongholds | At or above your average | At or above your average |
| Needs attention | Below | Below |
| Cited, Not Visible | Below | At or above |
| Visible, Not Cited | At or above | Below |
A topic counts as strong on a measure when it is at or above the line, and never when its figure is zero. Choose Matrix to see the topics as dots and tap one for its figures. Choose Table for the same in a list.
Topic gaps
On the Competitors page, the Gap analysis tab opens with Topic gaps. Pick a competitor from the list to see the topics where it is named more often than you. Each topic shows a bar for you and one for them, and is marked Missing when you are named in none of its answers, or Behind when you are named less often. Open a topic to see its prompts, then choose Open in prompts.
Content gaps
On the Sources page, the Content gaps tab shows the prompts where AI answers do not cite your website.
| Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
| Missing | Prompts where no answer cites your website |
| Weak | Prompts where fewer than half of the answers cite your website |
| Coverage | The share of a prompt's answers that cite a page on your website, from 0 to 100 |
Prompts are grouped by topic. Each row shows the pages cited instead of yours, the pages of yours that were cited, and the engines that cited you. Branded prompts are left out, and a prompt needs at least 1 answer in the period before it is judged.
Citation decay
On the Sources page, the Citation decay tab shows how long a page or website stays cited after it first appears. Choose between websites and pages.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Share trend | Its share of answers over recent runs |
| First cited | The first run that cited it |
| Rise (days) | Days from the first run that cited it to the run with its highest share |
| Peak share | Its highest share: the answers that cited it over all answers of one run |
| Half-life (days) | Days from its peak until its share first fell to half the peak or lower |
| Status | Lost (cited in an earlier run, not the latest), Decreased (cited at no more than half its peak share) or Stable |
It needs at least 2 runs to judge.
Search demand
Demand shows how often people search Google for a prompt's topic each month, as five bars:
| Bars | Level |
|---|---|
| 1 | Very low |
| 2 | Low |
| 3 | Medium |
| 4 | High |
| 5 | Very high |
Hover over the bars for the monthly number. To fill them in, choose Find search demand in the Prompts page menu under Add, then Find demand. It shows how many prompts will be looked up first, and asks once per prompt. Prompts Google has no volume for show No data.
Visibility weighted by search volume
Hover over the Visibility figure on the Overview. A second line, Weighted by search volume, gives your visibility with each prompt counted by its search volume, so prompts people search more count for more. Prompts with no search volume are left out of it.
What to do next
Start with topics in Needs attention or marked Missing, and weigh them by demand. Then see Opportunity size for a ready ranking, and Position distribution for where you appear within an answer.
