Sentiment per cited source

For each website and page AI cites, whether the answers that cite it describe your brand as positive, neutral or negative.

The Sentiment column on Sources shows which websites and pages AI cites when it speaks well of you, and which it cites when it does not. Each one reads Positive, Neutral or Negative.

Where to find it

  • On Sources, in the All cited domains table, the Sentiment column beside Mentions you. On a phone it sits under the website's name.
  • Open a website's row and each of its pages has its own Sentiment.
  • A page's Details shows the same figure at the top.

How it is worked out

It is read from the answers that cite the website or page, not from the page itself:

  1. Take every answer that cites it and also names your brand.
  2. Average the sentiment score of those answers, from 0 to 100.
  3. 60 or more reads Positive, 40 or less reads Negative, and anything between reads Neutral, as everywhere else in the app.

Hover the label for the count, for example "3 positive, 1 neutral, 0 negative (4 answers)".

A dash means no answer citing it names you, or it names you but its sentiment was not scored. Hover the dash to see which. The filters at the top of the page apply.

What to do next

  • A website that reads Negative is shaping how AI describes you. Open it, see what it says, and see whether you can answer or correct it there.
  • A website that reads Positive is one to keep: check that what it says about you is still current.
  • See Sources and competitors for the other columns.
