Which countries each engine works in

What each AI engine's maker says about the countries its product is available in, with the source and the date we read it.

Each engine's maker publishes its own page about where its product is available. This article repeats what those pages say, with a link to each one and the date we read it. Where a maker has no page we could read that lists countries, the table says Not stated and we do not guess.

In Settings, under Tracking, the link Where each engine is available shows the same answers for your project's own markets.

The markets you can choose

These are the markets you can pick in Settings, for the engines whose makers list countries. Listed means the maker's page names the country. Not listed means the page has a list and the country is not on it. Excluded means the page names the country as left out. Not stated means the page gives no list that settles it.

About these pages

  • OpenAI ChatGPT. The page shows only "Updated: 2 days ago", no calendar date. It refused a plain request (HTTP 403), so it was read through a browser-based fetch. It lists ChatGPT on web and mobile.
  • Anthropic Claude. The page shows "Effective Nov 12, 2026". The page's effective date is later than the date it was read, so it may describe a change that has not started. It covers Claude apps, the API and Claude on cloud platforms.
  • Google AI Overviews. The page shows no date. Its list includes regions of Spain and the Eurozone as separate lines, left out here because they are not countries. It says "Korea", taken as South Korea (the AI Mode page says South Korea).
  • Google AI Mode. The page shows no date. Some AI Mode features are listed for fewer countries on the same page; this row is the main availability list.
  • Google Gemini app. The page shows no date. It is the Gemini web app list; the page says the mobile app may have different availability and links to a separate list that was not read.
  • Microsoft Copilot. The page shows "Last updated: September 2026". The page gives a count and exceptions, not a list of countries, so only China can be marked as excluded; every other country is Not stated.
  • Perplexity. No page that lists countries could be read. Perplexity's terms of service were read and name no countries.
  • xAI Grok. No page that lists countries could be read. xAI's terms page refused the request (HTTP 403).
  • DeepSeek. No page that lists countries could be read.
  • Mistral AI. No page that lists countries could be read.
  • Meta AI. No page that lists countries could be read. Meta's own Get Meta AI page loaded but showed no country text to a plain request.
  • Alibaba Cloud Qwen. No page that lists countries could be read. Alibaba's regions page was read; it lists cloud regions for the service, not countries where people may use it.
  • Naver HyperCLOVA X. No page that lists countries could be read.

What this does and does not tell you

  • It is what each maker says about its own product, not a test of our checks. We ask each engine from our own servers and set the market's location, as described in Engines and models. A country that a maker does not list can still return answers, and a listed country can still give a different answer from the one a person there sees. We have not tested either.
  • The pages change. The date next to each source is the day we read it, and the table is updated by hand, so check the maker's page for the latest.
  • Some makers list different countries for different features or apps. The notes above say which list we read.
