The Gaps card lists product types and queries that return competitor results but not yours. Two tabs: Product types and Queries.
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Answers | How many of its shopping answers were gaps, for example 2 of 3. |
| Competitors | The competitors whose products showed, most product cards first. Hover for the count. |
The most gaps come first. Rows with no gap are left out.
How it is worked out
A gap is a shopping answer (the ChatGPT app or Google AI Mode, with product cards) that showed at least one tracked competitor's product and none of yours. A product counts as yours or a competitor's the same way as on the rest of Shopping: its name, its website or its seller. A product type is the prompt's topic, so a prompt with no topic shows under Queries only.
Where to find it
Shopping, above Shopping prompts.
What to do next
Start with the product type with the most gaps. Compare your product page and retailer listings with the competitors' shown there. See Shopping.
