Source tags and changing a source's type

Change how a website is classified, and tag websites and pages to filter Sources.

Change a type

On Sources, click a website's type pill and choose another type: Your site, Competitor, Editorial, Forums and social, Reference, or Reviews and directories. It saves at once and applies across the screen: the row, the type bar and its totals, and the type filter. A small dot on the pill marks a changed type, and its hover says what it was. Reset to automatic goes back.

Add tags

Tags show as chips beside a website. Open the row to add or edit tags on the website and, under each page, on that page. Type and press Enter, or pick one already used. Once any tag exists, an All tags list above the table filters to one. A website passes when it, or any of its listed pages, has the tag.

Everyone who can see Sources sees tags and changed types. Only people who can change the project can edit them. Limits: 40 characters a tag, 10 tags on a website or page, 100 different tags a project.

What does not change

The page type (Listicle, Article and so on) is a separate guess and is not overridden. Reports, CSV links and the MCP server still show the automatic types.

Where to find it

Sources, Websites.
