Each row on the Prompts page is one prompt. Open it to see how you do on that prompt alone, then compare cells, read what each answer used and see who asked it.
Open a prompt
On Prompts, choose a prompt's text, or any percentage in its row. A panel opens with Prompt detail at the top, then the answers.
| Figure | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Visibility | The share of this prompt's answers that name you, with its change since the previous period. |
| Vs competitors | Your place among the tracked brands on this prompt, such as "2nd of 5". |
| Answers | How many answers it covers. A prompt not asked in the period shows its latest run and says so. |
Below them are Visibility over time (a line, once the prompt has two runs), Visibility by engine and Competitor ranking, which lists every brand named on this prompt, you marked You. Under those are the answers, one engine at a time.
Position and head to head
In the Matrix view, a small number under a cell, such as #2, is your average place in the answers that named you. A number appears only where you were named.
To compare with one competitor, open the ⋯ menu and pick one from Compare with. Each cell gains Wins, Loses or Tie, and a line over the table totals them: "Against Oakline Studios: 12 Wins, 5 Loses, 3 Tie". Each cell is one prompt on one engine. Hover a cell to see the counts behind it.
Per answer, if both brands are named the one named first wins, and the same place is a tie. If only you are named you win. If only the competitor is named you lose. Answers that name neither are not counted. A cell takes the majority of its counted answers.
Search the engine ran
Some engines search the web before answering. In the answers panel, Searches the engine ran lists them, with + Track beside each. Choose it to add that search as a prompt of its own. It takes the topic and market of the prompt that led to it. A search already tracked shows Tracking.
What each answer used
In the Matrix view, open the ⋯ menu, then Columns, and switch on Web search, Shopping, Product comparison, Ads or Map. Each gives a narrow column with an icon, showing the share of the prompt's answers that used it.
| Column | An answer counts when |
|---|---|
| Web search | The engine searched the web for the answer. |
| Shopping | The answer showed product cards. |
| Product comparison | The answer had a table comparing two or more brands. |
| Ads | The answer showed a sponsored placement. |
| Map | The answer showed a map or a list of local places. |
A dash means none of the prompt's answers could show it, because the engine does not report it. Hover a figure for the counts and the split by engine. A column is offered only when some of your engines report it, and Ads only once an ad has been seen.
Intent
Each prompt carries an intent next to its stage: Informational (learning about a topic), Commercial (comparing options before choosing) or Transactional (ready to buy, book or get a price). It is set from the wording of the prompt. To change it, open the prompt's Prompt settings menu and choose under Intent, or tick several prompts and use the Intent list in the bar. Filter by intent with the chips in Filters, each with a count.
By persona
When your project has personas, a By persona card sits under the Prompts table. It lists each persona with its number of prompts and its visibility, best first. Choose a persona's name to filter the page to it. Where persona runs have been made, As persona shows the same prompts asked as that persona, beside the result for everyone.
What to do next
Look for prompts where you are named on one engine but not another, then read the answers there. A cell marked Loses against your main competitor is a clear page to improve. See Organise and export your prompts and Sources and competitors.
