There are four ways to add prompts beyond typing them in. Use whichever matches what you have.
| You have | Use |
|---|---|
| A description of what the brand sells | Suggest prompts, with its Prompt Universe map |
| A few runs of answers | Suggested tab, Prompt Research Report |
| A list in a spreadsheet | Bulk upload |
Nothing is tracked until you choose it.
Suggest prompts
On Prompts, choose Suggest prompts. Say what the brand sells, for example "accounting software for small UK businesses". You can also choose the market, a persona, How many (5 to 80) and paste keywords, one per line as "keyword, volume".
Choose Suggest prompts again. You get a list, each with an editable topic and stage. Tick the ones you want, or use Select all, and choose the Add button at the foot, which shows how many you ticked.
Prompt Universe
Above the list, switch from List to Prompt Universe to see the same suggestions as a map. The figures come first: topics, suggested prompts, already tracked and gaps.
- Rows are topics. Open the arrow beside a topic to see its subtopics.
- Columns are buying stages: Aware, Consid., Decide and Brand.
- A cell holds the number of suggested prompts. "+2" means two more are already tracked.
- A cell with nothing in it, outside Brand, is a gap: a topic and stage with no prompt yet.
- Choose a number to list those prompts. The box in the Chosen column ticks every suggestion in a topic at once.
Use it to pick a representative set: some prompts for every topic and stage, rather than many on one.
Suggested tab
When the searches the engines ran point to topics you do not yet track, a Suggested tab appears on Prompts with a count. It groups them under suggested topics, up to five topics with five prompts each. Choose + Track on one prompt, or Track all for a topic. Tracked prompts take the topic's name.
Prompt Research Report
Open the ⋯ menu and choose Prompt Research Report, under Checks. It lists the searches the engines ran before answering your prompts, by topic. At the top are two figures: the number of searches and the number missing coverage.
A topic shows Missing coverage while any of its searches is not tracked, and Tracking once all are. The topics with the most missing come first. Choose + Track beside a search to add it as a prompt.
Only ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude report their searches, so the report is empty until runs from one of them are in.
Bulk upload
Choose Add prompts, then Bulk upload. It is also in the ⋯ menu under Add.
- Drag your CSV file onto the box, or click it to browse. Download an example CSV shows the layout.
- Check the preview. Three counts show what will happen: New, Duplicates skipped and Over the limit. The first rows are listed with their status.
- Choose the Add button at the foot, which shows how many will be added. Use Choose another file to start again.
The columns are Prompt, Topic, Stage, Tags and Market. A header row is recognised by name, in any order. Without one, that order is used. Give several tags in one cell separated by a bar, or one tag per column. A blank or unknown market uses the project's first market.
- A duplicate is the same words, ignoring case, spacing and a closing question mark, in the same market. Prompts you already have, paused ones included, and repeats within the file are skipped.
- A prompt over 500 characters is skipped and counted as too long.
- Prompts are added in file order up to your prompt limit. The rest are counted under Over the limit.
What to do next
Add prompts for topics with a gap on the Prompt Universe first. Then read How prompts and checks work for how often each is asked, and Organise and export your prompts to keep the list tidy.
