The Industry benchmark card shows how your latest visibility compares with other workspaces in the same industry. The headline is one figure, such as "75th percentile": your visibility is higher than about three quarters of them.
Where to find it
Open Competitors, on the Ranking tab. The card comes after Visibility by engine. It is not shown to client logins or on the demo project.
Set it up
- In the card, choose your industry from the Industry list. Anyone who can edit the project can.
- Wait for the figure. Until your first check has run the card says "Your comparison appears after your first check."
Choosing an industry is also how you join the comparison: only projects whose owners picked an industry are counted. Change it to Not set to take the project out again.
What you see
- Percentile: the share of the other workspaces in your industry that you are ahead of. Ties count half.
- A small bar with a marker for You, the Industry median, and a shaded band for the middle half of the industry.
- Hover over the ? next to the industry name for how it is worked out.
Until at least 10 workspaces are in your industry the card says "Not enough brands in your industry yet." and shows no figure and no count.
How it is worked out
- It uses each project's visibility in its latest check. No new measurement is made and nothing is paid for.
- A workspace counts once, at the average of its projects in that industry. You are never ranked against your own workspace.
- Demo, free report, pitch and deleted projects are left out, and so are KlientBrain's own workspaces.
Privacy
Only a percentile, the median and the middle half of the industry leave the server. No workspace, project, brand name or single customer's figure is ever shown, and the card never says how many workspaces are in the industry.
The industries are: Software and SaaS, Online shops and retail, Finance and insurance, Health and wellbeing, Education and training, Travel and hospitality, Food and drink, Marketing and agencies, Legal and professional services, Manufacturing and industrial, Media and publishing, Charities and non-profits, Automotive, Home and garden services, and Something else.
