Influence is a score per cited website. Higher means the engines lean on it across more of your prompts, more reliably.
| Score | Example |
|---|---|
| 4.0 | Cited in every answer to 4 prompts. |
| 1.0 | Cited in half the answers to 2 prompts. |
| 0.25 | Cited once in 4 answers to 1 prompt. |
How it is worked out
Influence = the number of prompts whose answers cite the site × how consistently they cite it.
Consistency is the answers citing the site divided by all answers to those prompts. Answers that failed are left out. It uses the period and filters chosen at the top.
The score grows with the number of prompts you track, so use it to compare websites within one project, not across projects.
Where to find it
Sources, the Influence column in the Websites table (choose the heading to sort by it) and on the Hosts tab. Hover the ? by the heading for the one-line formula.
What to do next
Sort by Influence and look at the top sites you are not on. They shape the most answers, so they are the first places to be covered. See Sources and competitors.
