Actions

What the Actions page lists, what each fix type means, and how impact and effort are worked out.

Actions is a ranked list of ways to improve your AI visibility, with the evidence behind each one. You see the full list on the Actions page, and the top of it as What to fix first on Dashboards and on the Report page. It is ranked by expected impact, not revenue impact.

Reading a fix

Each fix shows:

  • Impact (High, Medium or Low). The top third of fixes are High.
  • Effort (Low, Medium or High), a rough guide to how much work it is.
  • One line of evidence, such as "Cited in 11 answers that name two competitors, never you". Tap a fix to see the detail, the prompts it affects and what to do.

Hover the Impact label to see how it was worked out. Choose Mark as done when you have acted on a fix, or Dismiss for one that does not apply. Move back to New undoes either. The Actions page has tabs for New, Done and Dismissed.

What fires a fix

FixAppears when
CorrectionA wrong or outdated fact about your brand has been found and is still open.
Pages to get ontoA page the engines cite names two or more competitors and rarely names you (you appear in at most 20% of its answers).
Sites AI citesA cited page that is not yours or a competitor's rarely names you, and no competitor needs to be named.
Weak engineOne engine names you in under 60% of the rate of your other engines.
Weak topicA topic of prompts names you in under 60% of the rate of the others.
Search AI runsA search an engine runs behind the scenes names you less than half as often as usual.
Your own siteAnswers name you but rarely link to your website.
Brand nameYou are named in no answers at all, even to branded prompts, so the name or aliases may not match.
Your promptsYou are named in no non-branded answers, so the prompts may be too generic.
Reddit conversationsA Reddit thread AI cites names a competitor and not you.
YouTube videosA video AI cites names a competitor and not you.
Social conversationsA post on another social or Q&A site AI cites names a competitor and not you.
Media articlesA news or media article AI cites names a competitor and not you.

Each fix says which data fired it, with real counts.

Reddit, YouTube, social and media fixes

These four fixes point to pages off your website: places where AI reads about your competitors and not about you. A page counts when it is cited in an answer that names a competitor and not you, and you are named in at most 20% of the answers that cite it. Your own pages and competitors' own pages are never listed.

There is one fix per channel, listing the five pages with the most such answers:

FixWhat to doEffort
Join the Reddit conversations AI citesAnswer the question first and say who you are. Check each subreddit's rules before you post.Medium
Create YouTube videos on these promptsMake a video that answers the same prompts, or ask the creators of these videos to feature you.High
Join the social conversations AI citesJoin openly as your brand, or ask a customer to share their experience there.Medium
Get included in the media articles AI citesPitch the authors or editors of these articles with one fact or story about you they can use. When some of the pages are lists or roundups, the fix says how many, and to ask to be added to those first.High

The evidence line says how many pages and answers the fix rests on, which competitors those answers name, and how often they name you. A page already listed under Pages to get onto is not listed again.

How impact is worked out

Impact multiplies three things:

  • Demand. The share of your prompt weight held by the prompts the fix affects. Where you have uploaded search volumes, they set the weight. Without volumes, every prompt counts equally.
  • Gap. Of the answers it affects, the share where a competitor is named and you are not. (For the brand name and prompts fixes, the share where you are not named.)
  • Reach. The share of all answers the fix touches.

Scores are scaled so the top fix is 100. Corrections always sit at the top of the list, whatever their score.

Effort

Effort depends on the kind of fix. Getting onto a directory is Low, a reference page or community thread Medium, and an editorial placement High. A correction on your own site is Low, and one that needs a third-party page changed is Medium.

Optional: the money at stake

If you enter a value per sale or lead and a conversion rate in Settings, the Actions page can show an estimate of the monthly value tied to the searches behind each fix. It is labelled as an estimate. It never appears in shared reports.
