Ask AI can look things up in Google, outside your project's own data, when you ask it a question that needs it.
What to ask
- "What does this site rank for?"
- "Who ranks for this search?"
- "Give me keyword ideas for accountancy software."
Under the answer, a list of the tools used shows which lookups ran:
| Shown as | What it looks up |
|---|---|
| Keyword ideas | Ideas for a phrase, with monthly searches and difficulty |
| Search results | The top 10 Google results for a search |
| Domain keywords | Keywords a site ranks for |
| Competing sites | Sites that compete with a site for the same searches |
The lookups read from a third-party data source and change nothing in your project or anywhere else.
Limits
- Each question can run up to 3 lookups. If it hits that, Ask AI answers with what it has.
- Each workspace has a monthly research allowance. When it is used up, Ask AI says The monthly research limit is reached and the date it resets. What a lookup costs is not shown to customers.
- Workspace members and Admins can use it. Viewers and client logins cannot.
- It is not offered while the research data connection is not set up.
- Plan mode reads nothing and runs no lookups.
- Backlink data is not included.
Read it with care
The figures come from the data source, not from your own checks. They are a sample for a market, so they can differ from other tools. Use them for ideas, then track what matters as prompts. See Find new prompts to track.
