This article covers the tools that give a writer, or the app, the material to work from: briefs from your answers, brand facts built from a document, and the pages behind a wrong claim.
Content briefs
A content brief collects, for one topic or one prompt, what the engines say and cite, so a writer can start from evidence. It contains no article text.
Open Sources and choose the Content briefs tab. Topics are listed on the left, most gaps first, each with its coverage. Choose a topic to see its brief. On a narrow screen the list becomes a Topic picker.
| Part of the brief | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Answers | Answers to these prompts in the period. |
| Coverage | The share of answers that cite a page on your website, from 0 to 100. |
| Gaps | Prompts where no answer, or fewer than half, cite your website. |
| Pages cited | Different pages cited in these answers. |
| Prompts | Each prompt with a Missing, Weak or Covered label. Choose Brief beside one to narrow the brief to that prompt. |
| Content types | The page types the answers cite, as one bar. |
| Frequently cited pages | The most cited pages, with the page type and whether each is yours or a competitor's. Choose Show all for the rest. |
| Competitors | Tracked competitors cited, and mentioned, in these answers. |
| Engine searches | The web searches the engines ran to build the answers. |
| Themes | What the answers say about you and your competitors, grouped by theme. |
Choose Copy brief to copy the same figures and lists as Markdown for a writer. The filters at the top of Sources set the period, engines and market. Branded prompts and failed answers are left out.
The brief inside an action
Every action has a The brief section in its panel on the Actions page. It lists the prompts behind the action with "you in 2 of 6", the engines, and the sites most cited. The panel's Checklist gives the steps to take, which you can tick off. See Actions.
Build facts with AI
Brand facts are what the Accuracy page checks answers against. You can add them one at a time, or pull them from a document.
- Open Settings, then the Brand facts tab.
- Choose Build facts with AI.
- Choose Text, File or URL. Paste text about your brand, such as your About page, add a .txt or .md file, or give the address of a page on your own website.
- Choose Find facts. The facts the text states are listed with the quote each came from.
- Tick the ones to keep and choose Add followed by the number. They are added to your brand facts. Facts you already have are left out.
You choose what is added, and the document itself is not kept. See Accuracy and brand facts for how facts are used.
Knowledge base
The Knowledge base keeps files and pages for the project so Ask AI can read the passages that match a question. It is a tab in Settings and is available to agency users, not client logins.
- Files tab: choose Upload files (.txt, .md, .markdown, .csv, .html, .htm or .docx, up to 5 MB each) or Add URL for a public page, then Add. A project holds up to 30 sources. Each shows its kind, name, size and date, with Remove.
- Search test tab: type a prompt under Ask a question and choose Test search. The passages that would be used are listed best match first, with a bar comparing each with the best one and your words marked. This is what Ask AI reads for the same question.
Trace a wrong claim
On the Accuracy page, each issue has a Claim analysis link and a folded Pages driving this claim list.
Pages driving this claim lists the pages cited in answers that repeat the claim. Each shows its type and how often it is cited in answers with the claim and without it. A page cited mostly where the claim appears is the one to look at first.
Claim analysis opens a page for the claim, with:
- Repeated in, Prompts, Models, First seen and Last seen.
- What AI is saying, a short summary of how the claim is worded.
- Claim breakdown, which you can switch between Citation, Model and Prompt. Citation gives each cited page with its citation share.
- Responses, the answers that mention the claim, with the claim marked.
Choose Back to Accuracy to return to the issue.
What to do next
Brief a writer for the topics with the most gaps, add the facts you build, and correct the pages that drive a wrong claim.
