Connect KlientBrain to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Copilot Studio or another MCP client, then ask about your brand's AI visibility in plain language. Your assistant reads the same data as your dashboard, so the numbers match what you see in the app.
Server URL
All assistants use the same address, https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp. You can also copy it from the MCP server card in any project's Settings, under Connected Apps. It ends in /mcp.
How sign-in works
There is no API key to copy. The first time you connect, you are sent to KlientBrain to sign in with your normal account and approve access. Your assistant then sees the same projects you see in the app, and nothing else. A client login sees only the projects shared with it.
Claude
- Go to Customize, then Connectors.
- Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Enter a name, then paste the Server URL and click Continue.
- Leave the sign-in settings as detected and click Continue, then Add.
- Click Connect and sign in to KlientBrain.
To use it in a chat, click + at the bottom left of the message box, choose Connectors and switch KlientBrain on.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it first under Organization settings, then Connectors, then Add, Custom, Web. Each member then finds it under Customize, Connectors and clicks Connect.
ChatGPT
Custom connections are available on ChatGPT web for Business and Enterprise or Edu workspaces, where an admin or owner sets them up. They are not available on the mobile apps.
- Go to Plugins.
- Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Enter a name, then paste the Server URL under Connection.
- For authentication, choose OAuth, and sign in to KlientBrain when asked.
- Review the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.
- Select Create as a plugin, then install it from your plugins.
To use it, start a new conversation, type @ and select the plugin.
Cursor
- Open (or create)
.cursor/mcp.jsonin your project, or~/.cursor/mcp.jsonto use it in every project. - Add KlientBrain with the Server URL:
{
"mcpServers": {
"klientbrain": {
"url": "https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp"
}
}
}
- Turn the server on under Customize in the sidebar.
- Cursor opens a browser window. Sign in to KlientBrain and approve access.
VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
- Open the Command Palette and run MCP: Add Server.
- Choose HTTP (HTTP or Server-Sent Events) and paste the Server URL.
- Give it an ID such as
klientbrain. - To keep it to yourself, choose Global, then Copilot Global.
- Follow the sign-in prompt in your browser and approve access.
Prefer to edit the file? In .vscode/mcp.json, VS Code uses a servers object:
{
"servers": {
"klientbrain": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp"
}
}
}
Claude Code
- In your terminal, run:
claude mcp add --transport http klientbrain https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp
- Start Claude Code and type
/mcp. - Choose KlientBrain, then sign in and approve access in your browser.
To use it in every project, add --scope user to the command. If the browser does not open, copy the address Claude Code shows. To sign in from the terminal instead, run claude mcp login klientbrain.
Codex
- In your terminal, run:
codex mcp add klientbrain --url https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp
- Run
codex mcp login klientbrain, then sign in and approve access in your browser. - Run
codex mcp listto check it is there.
Prefer to edit the file? In ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.klientbrain]
url = "https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp"
Windsurf (Devin Desktop)
Windsurf is now Devin Desktop. Its default agent, Devin Local, reads MCP servers from the Devin CLI config files.
- In your terminal, run:
devin mcp add klientbrain --url https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp -s user
- Run
devin mcp login klientbrain. A browser window opens: sign in to KlientBrain and approve access.
Prefer to edit the file? In ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json (%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json on Windows):
{
"mcpServers": {
"klientbrain": {
"url": "https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp",
"transport": "http"
}
}
}
Gemini CLI
- In your terminal, run:
gemini mcp add --transport http klientbrain https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp
- Start Gemini CLI and type
/mcp auth klientbrain, then sign in and approve access in your browser.
Signing in needs a browser on the same computer, so it will not work over a remote session without one. Prefer to edit the file? In .gemini/settings.json, use httpUrl:
{
"mcpServers": {
"klientbrain": {
"httpUrl": "https://app.klientbrain.ai/mcp"
}
}
}
Microsoft Copilot Studio
- Open your agent and go to Tools.
- Choose Add a tool, then New tool, then Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a server name, a short description and the Server URL.
- Under authentication choose OAuth 2.0, then Dynamic discovery, and select Create, then Next.
- Choose Create a new connection, sign in to KlientBrain, then select Add to agent.
Copilot Studio supports the Streamable HTTP transport, which is what KlientBrain uses.
Other apps
The server uses Streamable HTTP and works with any AI tool that supports the MCP standard. Add the Server URL in the tool's MCP settings.
Verify your connection
After setup, ask your assistant: "List my KlientBrain projects". You should see the projects you can open in the app. If you do, you're all set.
If it doesn't connect
- Check the address. It must end in
/mcp, with nothing after it. Copy it from Settings again. - Sign-in fails or loops. Remove the connector, add it again, and sign in with the same account you use in KlientBrain.
- No projects come back. You see the projects you can open in the app. Check you are in the right workspace, or ask an Admin to share the project with you.
- Claude can't reach the server. Claude connects from Anthropic's cloud, not your computer, so the server must be reachable from the internet. KlientBrain is, so check your own network or browser if sign-in stalls.
- Cursor. Open the Output panel and pick MCP Logs to see the error.
- VS Code. Run MCP: List Servers, pick KlientBrain and choose Show Output. Restart Server retries after a fix.
- Edit a Claude connector. Remove it and add it again.
Ready-made analyses
In Claude, type / in the message box and pick one. Each asks for a project, by brand name or id.
- Weekly visibility pulse: this week against last week, with competitor movers, cited sites and sentiment.
- Competitor movement radar: every tracked brand ranked, and where competitors are named and you are not.
- AI engine scorecard: your figures engine by engine.
- What to fix first: the top five fixes, with evidence, impact and effort.
- What AI says about us: sentiment with quotes, themes and inaccuracies.
If they don't show, remove the connector and add it again.
What you can ask
- List my projects.
- How is my brand doing across AI engines this month?
- Which competitors are named more often than us, and on which prompts?
- Which sites do AI answers cite most?
- What does AI say about us, and is any of it wrong?
- What should we fix first?
Let your assistant update fixes
Where this option is available, your assistant can also mark a fix In progress, Done or Dismissed, with an optional note. These are the same statuses as on the Actions page.
- An Admin opens Settings, then Connected Apps, and turns on Allow write tools for this project in the Write access card.
- Ask your assistant for your fixes, then ask it to mark one as done. It uses the fix's id from the fix list, so it changes the fix you meant.
Viewers and client logins cannot use it, and it can only change fixes in projects you can open. Each change appears in the Audit log as Changed data through MCP, with the source MCP. Mark a fix Done only once the change is live.
Write access
Read access is always on. Write tools are unavailable unless write access is on for this project.
The Write access card sits under the MCP server card, in each project's Settings, then Connected Apps. It has one box, Allow write tools for this project, and shows On or Off. Only workspace Admins can change it, and each change an assistant makes is recorded in the Audit log. If no write tool is available yet, the card says so.
Connected apps
Once an assistant has connected, the MCP server card lists it under Connected apps, with the date it first connected and the date it was Last used. Choose Disconnect to stop its access the moment you confirm. You can connect it again later by signing in from the assistant.
Good to know
- Read only. Your assistant can read your results. It cannot change projects, run checks or use your check allowance.
- Every plan. It is included on every plan at no extra cost.
- To disconnect, choose Disconnect under Connected apps, or remove the connector in your assistant's settings.
