Search insights shows the Google searches that bring visitors to your site for the topics you track. It reads your Google Search Console property, so connect it first with Connect Google Search Console (it is also under Settings, then Connected Apps, then Google Search Console).
The four figures
| Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
| Clicks | How many times people clicked through to your site from Google Search, for searches that match your topics. |
| Impressions | How many times your site appeared in Google Search results for those searches. |
| Position | The average position of your site in the results, where 1 is the top. |
| Share of site clicks | The share of all your site's Google clicks that come from searches matching your topics. |
Clicks and Impressions also show the total for the whole site, for comparison.
The lists
Topics shows clicks by topic. The Queries and Pages tabs list the searches and pages behind them, with Clicks, Impressions and Position. On Queries you can filter All, Branded or Non-branded.
Quick wins shows searches at position 4 to 15 with at least 100 impressions and under 5% of impressions clicked. They are close to the top, so a small push could pay off.
Good to know
Search Console data runs about 3 days behind. Only searches that match a topic of your prompts are listed, and Google hides rare searches, so the list is not the whole site.
What to do next
Start with Quick wins. Improve those pages, then watch whether the same topics gain AI visibility too. If you see No topics to match yet, add prompts with topics on the Prompts page.
